Saint Mary's College - Microsoft Software

Saint Mary's College offers Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for Students for free to our students. Office 365 ProPlus offers full current versions of Microsoft Office to be downloaded and installed on students' personally-owned computers. Versions of Office for mobile devices are also included with Office 365 ProPlus. After a license has been assigned, a Saint Mary’s student can install Office 365 ProPlus software on up to five personally-owned computers and five personally-owned mobile devices. There are no monthly subscription fees associated with the Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for Students license.

Previous versions of Microsoft Office may be available at Microsoft's discretion.

All Saint Mary's Students classified as full-time or part-time are eligible for the Microsoft Campus Agreement and Office 365 software. Students who are enrolled at another institution as their primary location for studies (University of Notre Dame, Holy Cross College, Indiana University, Bethel College) are not eligible for this program. Saint Mary's alumnae and others who are not active students are not eligible for Microsoft Campus Agreement or Office 365 software.

The Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for Students license will expire automatically 30 days after a student's active affiliation with Saint Mary’s College ends (this includes graduation). At expiration, the software will enter a reduced-functionality mode (files can be viewed but it will not be possible to edit or create new files) and the OneDrive associated with a student's Saint Mary’s account will no longer be accessible.

Students can obtain a license for Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for Students in person at the ResNet Office. Students must show their Saint Mary's ID card to verify their eligibility for this program and sign an agreement to obtain the license. The software can then be downloaded directly from Microsoft.

    • Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac
    • Microsoft Office 2013 for Windows
    • Windows 8 Pro Edition Upgrade
    • Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Upgrade

Please bring your Saint Mary's ID card with you to purchase the software, and the software will be charged to your student account. Software purchases must be made in person.

Microsoft software is available for purchase in the ResNet Office (113 Haggar College Center) beginning Thursday, August 18, 2016.

All Saint Mary’s Students classified as full-time or part-time are eligible for the Microsoft Campus Agreement for Student Users. Students who are enrolled at another institution as their primary location for studies (University of Notre Dame, Holy Cross College, Indiana University, Bethel College) are not eligible for this program.

Saint Mary’s Students are permitted one copy of each version of software available through the Microsoft Campus Agreement to install on their personal computer. Students may not purchase additional copies of the software, even if the original media was lost or damaged or the product key was lost.

Saint Mary’s Students may purchase upgrades to the software they have already purchased. For example, if a student purchased a copy of Microsoft Office and a new version of Microsoft Office was released and made available through the Microsoft Campus Agreement, the student would be eligible to purchase the new version.

Saint Mary’s Students are responsible for verifying their computers are compatible with the software available through the Microsoft Campus Agreement prior to purchasing the software. The system requirements for the Microsoft software available are listed at http://www.saintmarys.edu/resnet/resnetfaq/microsoftspecs.html

Students wishing to receive assistance with installing software they purchase through the Microsoft Campus Agreement can contact the ResNet Office. The ResNet Office can assist with Microsoft Office installations. Students are responsible for backing up their own data and upgrading their own operating systems. The ResNet Office can guide students through the process of backing up their data and upgrading their computer, but cannot complete the backup or upgrade process for students. Microsoft Campus Agreement software is only available for purchase during the academic year when the ResNet Office is open. This software cannot be purchased over the summer or during other breaks in the academic calendar. The hours for the ResNet Office are posted on the ResNet website.
